Busy times for Three Dales sheep farmer

"It's great to get calls from our customers!"

Spring and summer are busy times for Three Dales farmers. And no one is busier during the lambing season than Mark Keighley and his father Willie, who farm the banks of the River Wharfe at Poole-in-Wharfedale.

Over four decades, the Keighleys have built up a prize-winning flock of 150 pedigree Texel ewes, and have won the Northern Area Texel Sheep Breeders ‘In-Lamb’ sale for the last two years running.

"It’s really nice to know that our produce is going direct to local people," said Mark Keighley, who supplies all his lambs to Three Dales. “One Three Dales customer even phoned me recently to find out what breed his meat had come from – it’s great to get calls like that.”
